CONCERNING SALVATION BY WORKS
THE BIBLE SAYS…
Compiled by Daniel L.

·
Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean
thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy
rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have
taken us away.
·
Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith
unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth
the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in
thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never
knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
·
Luke 18:11-14 The Pharisee stood and
prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this
publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would
not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying,
God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell
you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every
one that exalteth himself
shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall
be exalted.
·
Romans 3:20-23 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall
no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of
sin. But now the righteousness of God
without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and
upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned,
and come short of the glory of God;
·
Romans 8:3-4 For what the law could not
do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the
likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the
righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the
flesh, but after the Spirit.
·
Romans 9:30-32 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after
righteousness, have
attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. But
·
Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not
justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we
have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of
Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no
flesh be justified.
·
Galatians 3:10-11 For as many as are of the works of the law
are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book
of the law to do them. But that no man
is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall
live by faith.
·
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and
that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man
should boast.
·
Titus 3:5-7 Not by works of
righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by
the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on
us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That
being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of
eternal life.
